Clean City Green City Pimpri Chinchwad By MLA Mahesh Landge

Hello Friends,
My name is Indrajeet, and I am Indrayani. We are from your city, Pimpri Chinchwad. We met Vision Man, Mahesh Dada. Yes, you heard it right, just like Spider-Man and Super-Man, he has special powers. He can see the future and is very optimistic about New India.
We wanted to share 11 stories of sustainable development happening in our city. These stories are based on the work of Vision Man – Mahesh Dada, who is building a future-ready city for all of us. These stories will help you do better in essay, elocution, and drawing competitions and win attractive prizes.
Let’s start with our Fifth story:

Green City

Our city is blessed with greenery. The largest Durga Devi Tekdi garden, an urban forest developed at Tata Motors and CME, and over 200 gardens and parks in the city are helping citizens breathe pure air. In the last 10 years, Mahesh Dada has made significant efforts to add 26 new gardens in the Bhosari constituency.

Waste Management

Our city is excelling in cleanliness and waste management under Mahesh Dada’s advocacy. Our city have successfully implemented the “litter-free wards” concept. The Moshi landfill site, once a dumping ground, is now being managed efficiently through projects like Waste-to-Energy, bio-mining, biogas production from hotel waste, and brick manufacturing from construction debris. The city’s waste collection system is robust, divided into 8 zones for efficient waste collection. Additionally, we have implemented tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and open-defecation-free zones. The municipal corporation has received several national awards for its cleanliness initiatives.

Waste-to-Energy

Maharashtra’s first Waste-to-Energy project was launched. This project processes approximately 1,000 tonnes of waste daily at the Moshi landfill site, generating 14 megawatts of electricity. This initiative has helped the municipal corporation save on electricity bills while addressing the city’s waste disposal issue.

Biodiversity Park in Talawade

This park on 70 acre land aims to restore a degraded landscape and promote environmental awareness. By reviving native species, engaging the community, and preserving indigenous knowledge, the park seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem. Through education and conservation efforts, it aims to foster a deeper connection between people and nature, ensuring a healthier planet for future generations.

Future Projects

Biodiversity Park in Talawade, Eco-tourism Park, development of the Indrayani Riverbank for tourism, creation of pilgrimage sites, and an international safari park in Moshi, will further boost environmental conservation efforts. Pimpri-Chinchwad is on track to becoming a clean, green, and beautiful city.

We hope you enjoyed that! Now, let’s dive deeper into the Clean & Green City projects. I encourage you to check out these news clippings, images, and videos for more information.
