पिंपरी-चिंचवडची जलस्वयंपूर्ण शहराच्या दिशेने वाटचाल
Hello Friends,
My name is Indrajeet, and I am Indrayani. We are from your city, Pimpri Chinchwad. We met Vision Man, Mahesh Dada. Yes, you heard it right, just like Spider-Man and Super-Man, he has special powers. He can see the future and is very optimistic about New India.
We wanted to share 11 stories of sustainable development happening in our city. These stories are based on the work of Vision Man – Mahesh Dada, who is building a future-ready city for all of us. These stories will help you do better in essay, elocution, and drawing competitions and win attractive prizes.
Let’s start with our Tenth story:
Water Scarcity
Pimpri Chinchwad, a rapidly growing city, has faced challenges in meeting the increasing demand for water. Despite its expansion and growing population, the city’s water sources remained relatively limited. Due to a lack of political vision, the Pavana Dam remained the sole water source for the entire city. No efforts were made to secure additional water supplies.
Addressing the Water Crisis
Mahesh Dada has been instrumental in addressing Pimpri Chinchwad’s water crisis. Under his guidance, the city has undertaken several projects to secure new water sources and improve water supply infrastructure.
- The Andra (100 MLD) and Bhama-Askhed (167 MLD) water supply projects have been implemented to reserve a total of 267 MLD (million liters per day) of water for the city.
- The Pavana Closed Pipeline Project has been sanctioned to ensure increased and safe water supply.
- The Nigdi water purification center’s capacity has been increased.
- Water tanks and new pipelines are being installed in various areas.
- A proposal has been sent to the state government to reserve 750 MLD of water from the Mulshi Dam for future needs.
Water Self-Reliance
These efforts have led to a significant decrease in complaints related to water supply and quality. The Andra water supply project has been completed, and the Bhama-Askhed project is nearing completion. Pimpri Chinchwad aims to become a water-self-sufficient city. By securing additional water sources and improving infrastructure, the city can meet the growing demands of its residents and ensure a sustainable water supply for future generations. The people of Pimpri-Chinchwad are happy and grateful for Mahesh Dada’s work. They know that with enough water, they can build a brighter future for their city.
We hope you enjoyed that! Now, let’s dive deeper into the Water Self-reliant. I encourage you to check out these news clippings, images, and videos for more information.
